SAUGEEN RIVER KAYAK FISHING
A true Must-Do in Southern Ontario for kayak anglers due to its many tributaries of cold and warm water, the Saugeen River spills into Lake Huron at Southampton. Affectionately known as "The Geen", the river offers steady fishing from May to November. Due mostly to the strong rehabilitation and stocking efforts put forth by the Lake Huron Fishing Club and Ontario Steelheaders organizations. Whether you prefer resident brown trout and rainbow trout fishing, steelhead and migratory trout, or warm water species such as largemouth bass, musky, northern pike, and smallmouth bass; the Geen has a season and species to suit everyone!
There are several local options to the Saugeen River should you want to try fishing an inland lake, Lake Huron, or even the Sauble River. The Saugeen itself has many options as well, including the Teeswater River, and many other offshoots of the main river system. We operate anywhere on the river from Walkerton to Southampton, and Bruce County from Wiarton to Port Elgin.
